2021 Harvesting

The mild, but rich of snowfalls, Winter ensured an excellent supply of water in the soil, essential for an year that has been very dry for the rest of the season.

A regular budding allowed to cope well with the late frost of the beginning of April while a long period of steady weather lasted throughout the Summer without heat waves and with fresh temperatures during the night.

In the first part of July heavy storms caused damages in Roero region, without involving the Barolo and Barbaresco area.
The season then continued regularly with low rainfall, helping to obtain at the harvest an excellent result of phytosanitary and qualitative level.

The wines

The white varietals , picked up regularly at the beginning of September, showed an optimal sugar content and good acidity that will preserve the wine freshness.

Dolcetto varietal has been harvested in perfect health conditions and with excellent parameters which led to succulent and extremely elegant wines.

Barbera and Nebbiolo varietals with a very high sugar content and strong acidity, produced extremely complex, long-lasting wines. Moreover, the optimal phenological maturity of Nebbiolo made it possible to have wines of structure and balance intended for a very long aging.
