2001 Harvesting

During October 2000 persistent and fateful rains had already caused floodings, while better weather conditions developed during the second half of winter and spring.

The very high water contents of the soil favoured a rapid growth of the buds and made the vines more resistant to a hot and dry summer with an exceptionally hot August .

In September sporadic providential rainfalls turned the harvest into a successful and rich vintage.

The wines

The year 2001 has the characteristics of the great vintage, endowed with balance and strength at the same time.
