1996 Harvesting

The year began with a winter characterized by heavy snowfalls lasting until spring, while May and June brought about sunny and warm weather which enabled the flowering and the setting to take place regularly and rapidly.

A hot, dry, windy and settled autumn fostered the complete maturation of the grapes.

The wines

A great vintage characterized by “traditional” style wines , with a good acidity and an austere tannic texture which will improve only with ageing.

These wines are suitable for very long ageing and they must, therefore, be kept for many years.
